Robert C. Lindsay, 85, of Talcott, died Saturday morning at his home, following a long illness. Born January 20, 1923 at Talcott, he was the son of the late Clifford C. and Hettie Ellis Lindsay. Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, retired from the C&O Railroad where he worked on the carpenter force and had worked at the Alderson Livestock Market and the Caldwell Livestock Market, he was an avid farmer and hunter. Preceded in death by four sisters; Jean E. Duncan, Dorothy C. Lindsay, Marjorie Blankenship and Belah Faye Lindsay. Survived by two brothers; Russell P. Lindsay of Nutterfort and Maurice L. Lindsay of Chesapeake, VA, one niece whom he helped rear; Barbara Blankenship and husband David, of Lowell, and two additional nieces and one nephew and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Sam Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Talcott Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from noon until funeral time on Monday.
