Robert Lawrence â??Larryâ?? Smith, 58, of Danville, WV, formerly of Hinton, died at 8:15 P.M. Thursday January 18, 2006 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, following a short illness. Born December 17, 1948 at Hinton, he was the son of Sarah L. Burk Smith of Hinton and the late Robert Leonard Smith. Larry was a graduate of Hinton High School Class of 1966, a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict having served 2 tours of duty and was an employee of the Augusta Land Consultants of Danville, WV. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lance â??Chipâ?? Smith in 1995. Besides his mother, Larry is survived by two sons; Justin Lindsay and Keven Ray Smith both of Danville, WV, one brother; Glen Patrick â??Patâ?? Smith of Vero Beach, FL, one sister; Sharon Sue Smith of Charleston and two aunts, Anna Thompson of Beckley and Margaret Beavers of San Antonio, TX. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Father Arthur Bufogle officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery at Covington, VA. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 11:00 A.M. until funeral time on Monday. Pallbearers: Norman Normandin, John McClung, Bruce Hager, Pat Hanifin, Steve Meadows and Ed Burdette.
