Robert E. Tucker, 71, of Hinton, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Bowers Hospice House following a long illness.
Born May 9, 1940, in Huntington, he was a son of the late Cline L. Tucker and Mary Lilly Tucker Maddy.
Robert was a Veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Yenkin Majestic Paint Corporation after 42 years of service as a warehouse manager. Robert was an avid fisherman and fan of WVU football and basketball. He enjoyed playing softball and spending time with friends and loving family.
Preceded in death by his step father, Benny Maddy; brother, Jimmy Tucker and infant twin grandchildren, Timothy James Suttles and Victoria Kay Suttles.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty years, Mary Johnson Tucker at home; four children, Bobbie Sue Sheedy of Columbus, OH, Tina Moyer (Bob) of Granville, OH, Cindy Suttles (Tim) of Harrisburg, OR and Joyce Proffit (Nick) of Pataskala, OH; eight grandchildren, Megan Sheedy, Courtney Moyer, Jacob, Shaylyn and Riley Suttles, Kimberly and Robert Shafer and Kady Merckle; one great grandchild, Sarah Giffen and one sister, Ginger Fitzwater(Russell) of Hinton.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bowers Hospice House 454 Cranberry Drive Beckley, WV 25801.
