Robert Turner

Robert Joe Turner, 81, of Carleton, MI formerly of Forest Hill, WV passed away Saturday January 18, 2014 in the Oakwood Hospital following a short illness.
Born June 7, 1932 at Hinton he was the son of the late Joe and Norene Violet Saunders Turner.
Bob retired as a paint supervisor for General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a United States Army Korean War Veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge #569 Dearborn, MI and a member of the Goldwing Riders Association Chapter C. Bob was a member of the Roles Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed motorcycle riding, farming and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Virginia Fern and Helen Gray Turner and one sister, Linda Turner Coleman.
Those left to cherish his memory include, two sons, Phillip Joseph Turner of Monroe, MI and Robert Eugene "Bob" Turner of Carleton, MI; one daughter, Linda Darlene Tuite and husband Robert of Roscommon County, MI; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two brothers, Earl Turner and wife Jane of Forest Hill and Sam Turner and wife Remona of Forest Hill.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Roles Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Hinton Masonic Lodge conducting graveside rites. Friends may call Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
