Robert Lacy Ward, 73, passed away April 29, 2016 at his home following a long illness.
He was born May 29, 1942 at Brooks to the late Robert Raymond Ward and Dessie Bragg Ward Lilly.
Robert was a former CNA at Summers ARH and had worked in the Maintenance Department at Pipestem State Park Resort and with Bartlett Tree Company. He was studying the bible to be one of Jehovah's witnesses.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Christopher Brian and Randy Douglas Ward and two brothers, Kenneth Ward and Paul Ward.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gwendolyn Gail Rider Ward; his four daughters, Charlotte, Patty, Dessie and Bonnie; adopted son, Billy Joe Ward and brother, Finely Earnest Ward and wife Rebecca. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
At his wish there will be no visitation and his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hinton with Rick Layton officiating.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
