Roe O'Dell Bennett, 64, of Meadow Creek passed from this life, 11:00 A.M. Friday May 20, 2016 and was taken into his eternal home to be with the Lord, doing what he loved, working in his garden.
Born August 13, 1951 at Glade he was a son of the late Nelson and Ruby Durrett Bennett.
He was a lifelong resident of Meadow Creek and a foreman for Wilson Tree Company. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. O'Dell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Preceded in death by three sisters; Corrine Richmond, Pauline Smith, Margaret Saunders and three brothers; Charles, Stanley and Russell Bennett.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Carol Wills Bennett; two daughters; Michelle Lynn Brown and husband Kevin of Independence, Virginia , Cynthia Marie Gore and husband Michael of Hinton; four grandchildren Kaileb Carr, Cheyenne Penn, Gavin Penn and Bryce Gore; one great grandchild, Adyson Carr; three sisters Juanita Phillips of Chicago, Illinois, Dreama Harrah of Franklin Park, Illinois, Phyllis Clevenger of Chicago, Illinois; two brothers Nelson Bennett Jr. and wife Lorraine of Green Sulphur Springs and Roy Bennett of Chicago, Illinois.
Graveside services and burial will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Richmond Cemetery at Sandstone with Pastor Cecil Cox officiating. Friends are asked to gather at the cemetery from 12:30 until time of services. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. "John 14:3"
