Roger G. Bennett, 59, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord, Saturday October 19, 2024, at Princeton Community Hospital following a long illness.
Born September 10, 1965, at Hinton, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Ethel Florence “Sissy” Gill Bennett.
Roger was a dedicated and passionate school bus operator for Summers County Board of Education. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed nature, the outdoors, fishing, feeding birds and spending time with family and friends.
Roger is preceded in death by three sisters; Barbara Gill, Cathy Bennett, Brenda Bennett; Fathers-in-law, James Burgess and Cecil “Pappy” Campbell.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years, Kimberly A. Bennett; one daughter, Alyssa Lilly and fiancé James Williams, one son; Aaron Bennett and wife Mary; very special niece, Nicole Davidson; brother in law, Keith Burgess; 16 grandchildren, Zachary, Bricelyn, Remington, Kannon, Gunner, Ryker, Steele, James Allen, Mason, Oliver, Charlee, Abrianna, Oakley, Phoebe, Kilik, Kairi; two additional children he viewed as grandchildren, Kinzy and Amiya, one brother, Michael Bennett; two sisters, Roberta Goff and husband Kenny, and Jaclyn Bennett; Mother-in-law, Betty Burgess; special friend, Marie Gill; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and all his children he cared for daily on his bus route.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Esquire Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of services Saturday at the funeral parlor. Pallbearers will be J.J Williams, Roy Graham, Joey Farley, Steve Mounts, Wayne Fox, and his grandson Zachary Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Jimmy Farley and grandson Remington Lilly.
