Roger Monroe Buckland, 69, of Lindside went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness.
Born October 11, 1948 at Forest Hill he was a son of the late David O. and Christine Cottle Buckland.
Roger was a construction worker and a member of the Local Laborer's Union of Beckley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing and spending time with family and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Buckland and Ferlin "Sarge" Buckland.
Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Kristy Buckland and companion Jason of Lindside and Shayla Tanksley of Starke, FL; one grandson, Lane Tanksley of Brooklet, GA; two sisters, Carol Wood and husband Ronnie of Grandview and Patricia Buckland of Burlington, NC; two nieces, Melanie and Autumn; one nephew, Justin; one great niece, Anna Grace; special friend, Leah Cyrus and a host of family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Roger's life will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. At his request the body has been cremated.
