Roger Lee Adkins

     Roger Lee Adkins, 81, of Hilldale died Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Summers County Main Street Care following a long illness.

     Born July 15, 1941 at Jonben, WV he was a son of the late Henry G. and Ruth Sexton Adkins and stepmother, Edra B. Adkins, who raised him.

     Roger was a former employee of Hick’s Floral in Hinton. He did odd jobs for numerous neighbors and would help anyone that he could.  Roger enjoyed fishing, attending church activities, singing hymns, spending time with family and friends and collecting ceramic angels.      

     Roger was preceded in death by his wife Anna and their sons, Levi Adkins and Roger Lee Adkins Jr.; brothers, William Ray Adkins, Dan Adkins and Charlie Adkins and sisters, Judy Lilly and Connie Woodrum.

     Roger is survived by four brothers, Frank Adkins and wife Margaret of True, Cleatis Adkins and wife Sue Ellen of Hilldale, James Adkins of Hilldale and David Adkins and wife Julie of Hilldale; three sisters, Melda Phillips of Lerona, Carolyn Sherwood of Hilldale and Twilla Freeman of Talcott and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

     Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wynn-Houchins Cemetery at True. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of services on Friday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
