Ronald Keith Grimmett, 73, resident of Willow Spring, North Carolina passed away on May 8, 2012, after fighting a long term illness of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Born January 14, 1939 in Summers County, WV he was a son of the late Herman Cline and Delma Athena Massey Grimmett, and one brother, H. Neil Grimmett.
Keith is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Alice (Surbaugh) Grimmett; three sons, Charles Duane Grimmett and wife Cathy, Patrick C. Grimmett and wife Ruth and Michael K. Grimmett and wife Tracey; four grandchildren, Cassie R. (Grimmett) Wooten, Brian C. Grimmett, Joshua P. Grimmett, and Hunter L. Grimmett; three great grandchildren, Skylar R. Wooten, Kamryn B. Wooten and Landon G. Grimmett, and one brother, G. Reece Grimmett and wife Phyllis.
Keith served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1962. His last job was working as a supervisor of construction and demolition in West Virginia. Following retirement, Keith and Mary Alice moved to North Carolina for family support.
Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Elk Knob Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to friends for their support during this difficult time. A special thanks to the Hospice group that cared for Keith during his final days.
His weary hours and days of pain;
His troubled nights are past;
And in our aching hearts we know;
He has found sweet peace at last.
