Ruby Wheeler

February 4, 1913 — April 5, 2013

Ruby A. Keffer Wheeler of Hinton, our 100 year old mother went home to be with the Lord on April 5, 2013 after a wonderful, long life.
Born February 4, 1913 at Buck she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Virginia Carson Keffer. She was the oldest living member of the Elk Knob Baptist Church, a member of the Rebekahs, the Hinton Eastern Star, Hinton Degree of Honor, a Statewide Volunteer of the Year, a former employee of the Hinton Hospital for 21 years, Hinton Senior Center for 22 years and a volunteer for the Summers County Hospital Auxillary. Mrs. Wheeler was a loving, kind and caring person who was always there for her family and friends in times of need.
Preceded in death by her husband Reverend E. C. ?Buck? Wheeler and eighteen brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Bobby Wheeler and wife Shirley of Hinton and Garry Wheeler of Hinton; one daughter, Jeanie Ratliff and husband Bobbie Rex of Union; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Keffer and wife Nancy of Elkins and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Andy Howdock and Bobbie Rex Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Knob Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the funeral parlors.
Mike Ratliff, Phillip Ratliff, Jeff Ratliff, Jody Ratliff, Timmy Wheeler and Tommy Miller will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Springfield Nursing Facility for the excellent care our mother received during her stay there.
