Russell Clair Bennett, 95, of Lake Park, FL passed away Friday March 7, 2014 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, West Palm Beach, FL following a long illness.
Born November 18, 1918 in Jumping Brach, WV he was the son of the late Elbert P. and Eunice Mooney Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a United States Army Veteran having served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater and worked as an automobile repair mechanic.
Preceded in death three brothers, Curtis, Carl and Charles Bennett and one sister, Mary Cantrell.
Survived by his granddaughter with whom he made his home, Sherri Richmond of Lake Park, FL; grandson, Roy Richmond of Elkton, MD; three sisters, Esther Fitzsimmons of Centerville, OH, Edna Bennett of Covington, VA and Betty Agee of Bartlett, TN and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 12:00PM Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
