Russell Bee Gadd, 81, of True, died Saturday, August 16, 2008, at the VA Medical Center in Beckley, following a long illness. He was born January 25, 1927, at Bertha in Summers Co. to the late Noah and Beatrice Gore Gadd. Russell was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran; a retired Tool and Die Maker for Remington Rand Corporation in Marietta, OH; a former member of the Parkersburg Masonic Lodge and currently a member of the Hinton Masonic Lodge #62 A.F. & A.M. An avid outdoorsman who particularly enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, Russell loved life and, although he was retired, he never quit working. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed gospel music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Virginia Farley Gadd at home; one daughter, Caroline Powell and husband J.C. of Charleston; one grandson Talbot Powell of Charleston; three brothers including his twin, Robert Gadd and wife Ennis of Elgood, Lotus Gadd of Frederick, MD and Rhodolphus Gadd of Athens; six sisters, Dorothy Epling of Hilldale, Daisy Jones of Beckley, Vada Igo of Charleston, Nadine McClaughlin of Weirton, Zula Patterson of Bluefield and Anna Faye Werney of VA; a special nephew, Jason Epling and wife Shirley of Hilldale, and a special friend, Mike Griffith, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Russellâ??s life will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 20, 2008,at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Jim Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Princeton. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
