Samuel Ballengee

September 12, 1942 — August 5, 2014

Samuel Henry Ballengee, 71, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Main Street Care following a long illness.
Born September 12, 1942 at Hurricane he was a son of the late Hiram and Almina Taylor Ballengee.
Samuel was a decendent of the first settlers of Hinton and was of the Baptist faith. He was a former cook at Pipestem State Park and enjoyed fishing, hunting, artwork and spending time with family and friends.
Samuel was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Ellen Ballengee and Virginia Carol Ballengee; one grandson, Dalton Newhouse; two brothers, Junior McDonnie and James Hiram Ballengee and two sisters, Mae Brooks and June Saphin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his three children, Timothy Ballengee and wife Sheila of Oak Hill, Samuel Ballengee of Charleston and Cindy Osborne and husband Lester of Dawson; four grandchildren, Patricia Newhouse, Amy, Joshua and Steven Osborne; four great grandchildren, Ashlynn, Trayton, Trustin and Alexa; two sisters, Mary Rutledge of Cashmere and Barbara Rakes and husband Bobby of Hix and numerous nieces and nephews.
At his request graveside services and burial will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Huffman Cemetery at Buck with Chaplain Delmas Wolfe officiating. Friends are asked to gather at the cemetery from 10:30 until time of services Monday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.





Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
