Sarah E. (Adkins) Gill, 76, of Tug Creek Rd. Hinton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 4:00 P.M.
II Timothy Chapter 4 Verses 6-8. For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Hence forth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness. Which the Lord the righteous judge shall give me at that day, and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Sarah was a loving Christian mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was a loving friend to all her family and many friends. She loved to go to church and listen to gospel radio and television programs, especially the ?Love of Jesus? ministry with Dianna Pittman and Johnnie.
Born February 18, 1937 at Sandstone she was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Elvie Myrtle Martin Adkins.
Other than her parents Sarah was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil B. Adkins who was killed in the Korean War; her first son, Virgil Lewis Adkins and one brother, Johnny A. Adkins.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Daniel C. Gill; three sons, Columbus Ray and wife Connie, Raymond Douglas and wife Lillie Mae and John W. (Timmy); two daughters, Carolyn Bishop and husband Henry and Christine Gill, all of Tug Creek; four granddaughters, Susie Meadows Farmer and husband James of Hinton, Shelia Richmond and husband Eddie of Hinton, Donna Ann Gill of Tug Creek and Sherry Bishop and husband Ben of Elk Knob; one grandson, John Stevenson and wife Sonya of Tug Creek; great grandchildren, Rogie Massey, Samantha Cain, Kaylee Farmer, Sally Ann Fox, Gracie and Dean Richmond, Stacy, Daniel ?Bubbie? and Baby Sarah Bishop and Dominic Stevenson; one brother, Carlos H. Adkins and companion Rose Massey; two sisters, Ethel Ward of Chestnut Mt. and Charlotte Yonney and husband Danny of Scarbro.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Harold Taylor and Eddie Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the Gill Family Cemetery at Tug Creek. Friends may call from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral parlors.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.
