Sarah Ann Ward, 49, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 27, 2014 at Raleigh General Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born August 11, 1964 at Nicholas County she was a daughter of the late Shirley Ann Akers and Chilton D. Akers of Beckley.
Sarah was a homemaker who lived most of her life in Summers County. She was of the Baptist faith. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister who enjoyed CB radios, cooking and taking scenic drives.
Besides her mother, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Ray Ward Sr. and two sisters, Barbara Johnson and Catherine Acres.
Besides her father, those left to cherish her memory include; one daughter, Heather Rose Ward of Hinton; one son, Daniel Ray Ward Jr. of Hinton; three brothers, Terry Ward of Georgia, Charles Barr of Summersville and James Akers of Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Joey, Rocky, Gabrielle and Melissa; a mother in law, Ellen Jane Ward and several brothers and sisters in law.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 31, 2014 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Lawrence Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Cales Cemetery on Chestnut Mtn. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 11:00 A.M. until time of services.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
