Shannon Rodes Kessler

Shannon Rodes Kessler, 52, of Hinton entered into eternal rest Monday, April 21, 2025 at her home following a short illness.

Born September 10, 1972 in Hinton she was a daughter of Wilma Lilly Rodes of Hinton and the late David Gary Rodes.

Shannon was a 1990 graduate of Hinton High School where she was head majorette. She was a music major at Concord University. Shannon was also a 1999 graduate of the Summers County LPN Program. She attended United Airlines Flight Academy and was employed for six years at Piedmont Airlines where she received numerous accreditations until her retirement due to illness.

Besides her father, Shannon was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Juanita Austin and Luther Basham.

Besides her mother, those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Lillyan Mariah Dove – Kessler; one son, Nathanial Gelvin Kessler and wife Melanie; one granddaughter, Eliza Louise Kessler; one brother, David Austin Rodes and wife Dawn and three nieces, Abigail, Samantha and Madeline.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
