Sharon K. Hicks, 54, of Lowell went home to be with the Lord, Monday evening December 27, 2010 at home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 19, 1956 at Talcott she was a daughter of the late Raymond E. Grose and Margaret G. Martin. Sharon was a born again Christian who dearly loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, worked many different jobs over the years to provide for her children, enjoyed making crafts which she loved sharing with all of her family, a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Sharon was a friend to all she met.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Ray Turner Jr.; one brother, Raymond E. ?PeeWee? Grose Jr.; two nephews, Jonathan and Tyler Lilly and one niece, Melissa Dawn Lilly.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Darren L. Hicks and wife Julie of Columbus, OH and Christopher R. Hicks and wife Tonya of Hinton; three grandsons, Zack and Mason Hicks of Hinton and Colton Hicks of Columbus, OH; her father, Rev. Ray Martin of Hilldale; one brother, Richard Grose and wife Susan of Leatherwood; two sisters, Dee Lilly and husband Terry of Leatherwood and Vicky Lilly and husband Mike of Pipestem; three nephews, Jeremy and Jason Grose of Leatherwood and Corey Lilly of Leatherwood; three nieces, Kristen Grose of Leatherwood and Angel and Breanna Lilly of Pipestem and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Wimmer Cemetery at Hinton. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
