Shealvey Jean Keaton Ratcliffe, 76, of Cave Ridge went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 19, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family following a long illness.
Born June 23, 1939 at Pipestem she was a daughter of the late Jack and Pauline Lilly Keaton. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Shealvey was a member of the Summers County Council on Aging and the Jumping Branch Senior Citizens Center. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Shealvey was an award winning sales representative for Avon, she held various food management positions at Pipestem State Park, as well as working as a CNA at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation and doing private home sitting with the elderly and CNA work with senior programs. Shealvey enjoyed gardening, flowers, music, walking, reading, canning, and crocheting but her greatest passions were spending time with her grandchildren and traveling, especially to the Great Smoky Mountains with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Ratcliffe; one great grandson, Carson Turner and one brother, Arnold Lee Keaton.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, Tammy Lilly and husband Denny of Cave Ridge; Debbie Ballengee and Husband Troy of Cave Ridge and Frank Ratcliffe and wife Jeanette of Camp Creek; four grandchildren, Amy Justice and husband Jason, Joshua Lilly and wife Brittany, Romantha Turner and Katie Ratcliffe; five great grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Justice, Caleb and Kelly Lilly and Miles Turner. Many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly, especially, Becky Keaton Knecht and Betty Ann Canterbury also survive.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Don Hannah and Tom Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ratcliffe Family Cemetery at Cave Ridge. Friends may call from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral parlors and from noon Thursday prior to the service.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
