Shirley Adkins

Shirley Kathleen Adkins, 64, of Tug Creek went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 8, 2022 at her home following a long illness.

Born June 8, 1957 in Ashland, KY she was the daughter of the late Melvin M. and Mary Bennett Bragg.  She attended the Upland Baptist Church, retired as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Richman and Dr. Day.  Kathleen was an avid gardener who enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Preceded in death by her grandson, DreLynne Columbus and all of her brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years, Jackie C. Adkins; children, Jackie Joe Adkins and companion Leigh Boggess, Shelda Cox and husband Steven, Joshua Adkins and Andrea Richmond and husband Jason; grandchildren, Valerie, Emily, Sjean Harley, Alexandra and Angelina; special friend and cousin, Shelda Crook and many sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and family whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cales Cemetery at Chestnut Mountain.  Friends may call from noon until time of the services on Tuesday at the funeral parlors.

Nephews and great nephews will serve as pallbearers.
