Shirley Ann Miller, 74, of Nimitz passed away March 24, 2017 at Bower's Hospice House in Beckley.
Born June 6, 1942 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. and Adena Garten Maddy of Pence Springs.
She was a faithful member of the Bluestone Baptist Church in Jumping Branch, graduate of Talcott High School, graduate of LPN certification, Beckley College and Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. Ann worked at the Catholic Hospital in Ogden Utah, and for Dr. Kars in Lewisburg and Beckley, as well as for Dr. Day in Hinton and for the Summers County Hospital.
Ann is survived by her husband Haven L. Miller; two sons by a previous marriage Greg Jones and wife Mindy of White Sulphur Springs, and Stacy Jones of Pence Springs; two granddaughters Trista Workman and husband Jake of Ronceverte, Kelsey Parker and husband Jamie of Caldwell; two stepsons, Ray Miller and wife Peggy of Clayton, Gary Miller of Clayton; two step grandchildren, Tyler Miller of Clayton and Shelley Miller of Grantsville; one brother, Ashby Maddy and wife Donna of Nimitz; special aunt, Lorene Cales of Forest Hill; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles also survive.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Bluestone Baptist Church in Jumping Branch with Pastors Bill Fox and Butch Honaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Pence Springs. Friends may call from 6-9 PM Monday at the Bluestone Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Dale and Steve Hedrick, Aaron Maddy, Jerry Warden, Tyler Miller and Johnny Bowling. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all who provided medical support, visited, helped in any way and prayers. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the Bowers Hospice House at 454 Cranberry Drive Beckley, WV 25801.
