Steve Allen Smith, 57, of Hinton passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at his home following a long illness.
Born September 14, 1956 he was a son of the late Jessie and Gladys Phillips Smith and reared by his grandmother the late Eva Smith.
Steve was of the Baptist faith and had lived most of his life in Summers County. He was a construction worker who enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and spending time with friends and family.
Steve was preceded in death by four brothers, James Smith, Mike Smith, Johnnie Smith and Billy Lyn Smith and one sister, Patty Lou Mitchem.
Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Gladys Smith and companion Brian of Mechanicsville, MD; six grandchildren, Nyla, Ashlyn, Daelyn, Amari, Devin and Byron; last surviving sister, Edith Coffman and husband Steve of Jumping Branch and several nieces and nephews. In his life Steve had two special women, Drema Smith and Bev Cordial and a special friend, Jimmy Gore.
Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 6, 2014 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors with Pastor Josh Southern officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 ? 7:00 P.M.
At Steve?s request the body will be cremated following the services.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
