Teddy K. Willey Sr. 73, of Ramp went home to be with the Lord, 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 2, 2008 at his home with his family and friends at his side following a long illness. Born April 7, 1935 in Summers Co. he was a son of the late John and Ethel Irene Dick Willey. Teddy lived most of his life in Summers Co., a graduate of Hinton High School in 1953 he then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. and served his country in that capacity until 1957, he then joined the Hinton Army National Guard until his retirement in 1995. A member of the Hinton Police Force from November 1957 till October 1975 where he served his community as a patrolman and later as Chief of Police. He and his family then moved to Greenbrier Co. where he worked as a coal miner for 15 years and as a house parent at the Davis Stuart Child Care from 1989 to 1992. Preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Bob Willey and one sister, Edith Willey Adkins. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Ann Johnson Willey; two sons, James Earl Willey of Hinton and Teddy Kenneth Willey Jr. and wife and wife Lynn of Lebanon, N.H.; one daughter, Evelyn Irene Walker and husband Randy of Mt. Airy, N.C.; two daughter-in-laws, Julia Willey of Rupert and Donna Varner of Marion, VA; three special little girls, Jessica Stover, Kayla Mitchell and Summer Mitchell that God blessed his home with for a short while; two grandsons, James Willey who lived in the home and with his love and special care made it possible for his PaPa to have the gift of passing at his home and also Griffin Decilles of N.H.; four granddaughters, Jessica Willey of Klondale, N.C., Jillian Decilles of N.H., Rebecca Walker Ring and Jennifer Walker Haynes both of Mt. Airy, N.C.; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Rachel and Ethan Ring of Mt. Airy, N.C.; one brother, Bill Willey and wife Geneva of Hinton and one sister, Eva Mae Willey Allen of Hinton and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Ramp Holiness Church with Pastors Felix Baker and Patricia Cales officiating. Burial will follow in the Dick Family Cemetery at Ramp. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors at Hinton and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. Lewis Cales, Amos G. Hicks, Amos Hicks, Herman Cales, Milford Ward, Randy Ward, Basil Basham and Dolph Harless will serve as pallbearers.
