Thomas Gordon Brown, 52, of Will Dodd Road, Jumping Branch went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness.
Born February 11, 1959 at Summersville, WV he was a son of the late Woodrow and Whaneva Brown Silman.
Thomas worked in the Maintenance Department at Ashland University as well as an operator at the Meadow Bridge waste water treatment plant and loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Arnold Silman and his father-in- law Forrest Begly.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Phillis A. Brown at home; four daughters, Rachel Dick and Husband Billy, of Ramp, Cassandra Brown, of Meadow Creek, Sondra Martin and Husband Jimmy, of Prince and Cora Stewart and Husband Joshua, of Jumping Branch; one son, Deric Keener and Wife Krista, of Ashland, Ohio; five grandsons, six granddaughters, one brother, Jimmy Silman of Hacker?s Valley; two sisters, Michelle Silman of Ashland, OH and Kay; mother-in-law, Mabel Begly of Ashland, Ohio; A loving aunt, Zena Brown; special cousins, Harold Brown and wife Lisa, and Ernie Brown and numerous family and friends that he cared for.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors with Sister Wanda Gwinn officiating. Burial will follow in the Claypool Cemetery. Friends may call at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors from noon until time of the services.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
