Ulles E. Fox, 87, of Barksdale passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 in the CAMC Memorial Division following a sudden illness.
Born March 18, 1923 at Hinton, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family and a son of the late Thomas Green Fox, High Beckner and Sally Ann Ward Fox Beckner with whom he was raised.
Ulles served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from Con Rail, Cleveleand, Ohio where he was a welder and boilermaker. He and his wife Helen returned to Barksdale to the house that he built and where his kids were raised in 1985.
Ulles was preceded in death by eight brothers; Deeney, James and Elonzo Fox and Cecil, Auld, Beechie, Rosco and Lacy Graham. Ulles was preceded in death by five sisters; Martha Richmond, Julia Yost, Eullie Ford, Octavia Fox, and Levi Smith. He was also preceded in death by his best friend Leonard Sears.
Ulles was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Coleman Fox; three daughters, Judy and husband William Candow of Willoughby, OH, Karen Perry of Lavalette, WV and Jewel Cales of Barksdale; two sons, Ulles Lloyd Fox of Milford, PA, and Gary Fox and wife Joann of Rockcreek, OH. Thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Friday, April 9, 2010 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel where a eulogy will be held at 6 P.M. by his son, Ulles Lloyd Fox. Friends may call from 5 P.M. until time of services.
