Valerie McKinney

Valerie Dawn McKinney, 57, of Hinton entered into eternal rest Sunday August 29, 2021 at her home following a long illness.

Born May 19, 1964 in Anderson, Indiana she was the daughter of Evelyn Downham McKinney of Beech Run and the late Larry Douglas McKinney.  She was a Freelance Artist, loving mother, grandmother and daughter.  Valerie enjoyed spending time walking by the river, on the beach and was a “hippy for life”, but most of all she loved being with her grandchildren and her beloved cat.

Besides her mother those left to cherish her memory include her son, Nathen D. McKinney and wife Ashley of Nimitz; three grandchildren, Jacob, Jaxston and Nataley; brother, Dagan P. McKinney and partner Bill Costomiris of Beech Run; former domestic partner, Rick Plumley of Hilldale and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Valerie’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
