Vella Wilson

July 23, 1914 — February 19, 2008

Vella Evelyn Wilson, 93, of Hinton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, February 19, 2008 at Country View Assisted Living at Peterstown. Born July 23, 1914 at Ballengee, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Ida Allen Wilson. Evelyn lived most of her life at Wayside where she cared for her parents and ran the farm with her brother Harry. Upon Harryâ??s death, Evelyn sold the farm and moved to Hinton, working at the Old Hinton Hospital until it closed and then she worked in private home care. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Hinton First United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by two sisters; Lettie Hedrick and Cammie Canterbury and five brother; Russell, Bert, Harry, Howard and Woodrow â??Boâ?? Wilson. Her only survivors are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Wayside United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Price, Pastor Rick Duncan and Pastor Terry Utterback officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton from 6-8 P.M. on Friday and at the church one hour prior to services. Pallbearers: Billy Adkins, Melvin Wilson, Gary Wilson, Harold Boggess, Michael and Jason Smith, Blaine Smith and Edward Vass. Miss Wilsonâ??s family would like to thank Country View Assisted Living, The Hinton United Methodist Church and especially Darrell Lilly of their love and support.
Viewing Information: 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
Funeral Information: 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Wayside United Methodist Church.
