Mae Pack, 91, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Jumping Branch, died Friday at 2:30 A. M. October 5, 2007 at the Community Hospice of North East Florida, following a short illness. Born June 7, 1916 at Slab Fork, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Maggie Meadows Maddy. At the age of 14 she went to the Pack Farm to care for Mrs. Pack, her future Mother-in-law and there met and married her husband Cecil Pearl Pack. She remained on the farm until she moved to Jacksonville, FL four and one half years ago. She was a homemaker and attended the Jumping Branch Gospel Tabernacle and the Grace Baptist Church at Nimitz. Preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Pearl Pack March 18, 1990 and a grandson, Chris Pack. Survived by; three sons, Richard Pack and wife Gail of Ballard, Robert Pack and wife Rita of Hopewell, VA and Jackson â??Jackieâ?? Pack and wife Stephanie of Chester, VA; one daughter, Kara Wilson and husband Cliff of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Gene Maddy of Stafford, VA; one sister, Leoma Bowling and husband Clayton of West Salem, OH; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor William R. Ballengee officiating. Burial will follow in the Pack Family Cemetery at Jumping Branch. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 5-7 P.M. Sunday.
