Virginia Hinton

August 12, 1923 — August 28, 2013

Virginia Lee Davis Hinton, 90 of Madams Creek, Hinton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Born August 12, 1923 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Luther Ray Davis and Nora Albany Harvey Davis.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one son, Grant Lee Hinton; one brother, James Garfield Davis and four sisters, Frances Mae Keffer, Margaret Marie Meador, Anna Belle Davis and Mary Ellen Davis Thompson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Wyatt K. Hinton; one son, Thomas J. Hinton Sr. and wife Rhodetta of Hinton; one daughter in law, Bonnie Hinton; four grandchildren, Janet L. Hinton and James A. Miller, Christopher (Chris) G. Hinton and wife Michelle, Lou Ann Hinton and companion Bo Donohoe and Thomas J. (Joe) Hinton and wife Jennifer all of Hinton; five great grandchildren, Matthew (Matt) D. Hinton, Crisa L. Hinton, Dalton L. Hinton, Caleb E. Hinton and Harley Brown; one sister, Lillian Vass of Hinton and several nieces and nephews.

She attended the Madams Creek (Gilpin) School and was an active member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church and the United Women?s Society. She was a loving, caring, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She and husband (Wyatt) ran the Hinton Dairy for 25 years. Together they won the Farm of the Year award given by the Southern Soil Conservation District. They spent many years maintaining the Hinton Farm. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening and housekeeping.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Elder Tom Pack officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service.

Pallbearers will include Trevor Richmond, Eddie Ratliff, John Keith Bowling, Josh Bowling, Joseph Bowling, Ed Cole and Jack Hellems. Honorary pallbearers are Kent Hellems, Mark Meador and Sammy Ball.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Hinton requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society.





Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
