Walter "David" Neely, 73, of Nimitz passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 following injuries received from an automobile accident.
Born March 29, 1945 at Summers County he was a son of the late Erastus Brady "E.B" and Mary Harvey Neely.
David was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a former employee of C&O Railway and CSX. He was the owner and operator of Nimitz Body Shop. David loved music, hanging out in his garage and stock car racing (he formerly raced at Beckley Motor Speedway).
He was preceded in death by his wife Genieve Neely.
Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Melissa Neely Harris and husband David of Beckley; one sister, Norma Jean Wilcox and husband Duane of Shady Spring; one brother, Donnie Neely of Nimitz; one nephew, Christopher Sherill Wilcox of Shady Spring; one niece, Phyllissa Wilcox of Shady Spring; one great nephew, Zachary Wilcox of Shady Spring and his beloved and faithful dog, Joy.
Graveside service and burial will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 7, 2018 at Lilly-Crews Cemetery with Pastor Daniel E. Harris officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from noon until 1:30 P.M. Friday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
