Wilford Smith Jr.

Wilford Elliott Smith Jr. affectionately known as “Junior”, 54, of Kirby Mountain went to heaven to be with the Lord May 25, 2021 at Charleston Area Medical Center General Division following complications of a stroke.

Born January 17, 1967 at Hinton he was a son of Claudia Ailene Blevins Smith of Kirby Mountain and the late Wilford Elliott Smith.

Junior was a member of the Pence Springs Community Church. He was former manager of Unique Balance with several years of service. Junior was also a truck driver for WLA Trucking of Mt. Airy, NC. He enjoyed hunting, beekeeping, board games, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Besides his father, Junior was preceded in death by one brother, Ernie Lee Smith and one nephew, Virgil Dewey “DeeCee” Cochran.

Besides his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 20 years, Sybil Smith; three daughters, Kristen (Brent), Ariel (Greg) and Jossie Lynn; two sons, Riley (Manda) and Eli; four grandchildren, Juliette, Waylon, Mason and Abigail; one sister, Victoria Smith (John David) Kesler; one special niece, Shenandoah; one special nephew, Dalton and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 30, 2021 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Roger Persinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 P.M. until time of services on Sunday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
