William L. Steers, 83, of Keatley Springs, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, following a long illness.
Born April 23, 1928, at Hinton, he was the son of the late William F. and Rosie Gill Steers.
William was a former employee of Keystone Fireworks, at Elkton, MD and was a disabled timberman. He was a member of the Holiness Church.
Preceded in death by two brothers, John Steers and Charlie Steers and one sister, Christina Adkins.
Survived by his wife, Linda Martin Steers, at home; one son, Tommy Steers and wife Heather of Big Creek; one brother, James Steers of Keatly Springs; one sister, Nancy Martin and husband Everett of Keatly Springs; three grandchildren, Lillian and Savannah Steers and Shyanne Bolt; one niece, Rosie Culbertson and husband Daniel; one great niece and one great nephew.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Reverend Ray Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Steers Family Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-8:00 PM Monday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
