Willis Robert Wills, 96 years old, of Jumping Branch, a loving Dad and Grandfather, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital, at Hinton, following a short illness.
Born May 1, 1915, at Streeter, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Mary Farley Wills.
Willis was a lifelong resident of Summers County and was a member of Bluestone View Primitive Baptist Church. He worked as a farmer and timberman.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lennie Wills; four sons, Robert, Donnie, Herbert and Dewey Wills; one grandson, Stevie Wills; two granddaughters, Donna Wills and Stephany Elswick and son-in-law, Dennis Hatfield. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by four sons, Robert Nelson Wills and wife Patty, of Ellison Ridge, Joseph Ray Wills and wife Virginia, of Nimitz, Charles E. Wills and wife Penny, of Raleigh and Robert E. Wills and wife Barbara, of Ellison Ridge; three daughters, Retha Bolen and Husband Wayne, of Nimitz, Wilma Hatfield, of Jumping Branch and Willa Basham and husband Darrell, of Nimitz; twenty eight grandchildren; thirty one great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M. Sunday, March 4, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Elder Tommy Pack officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly Crews Cemetery, at Nimitz. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6:00-9:00PM Saturday.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
