Winfred Wilson â??Pee Weeâ?? Whitten, 73, of Jumping Branch, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:00 A.M. Friday, August 24, 2007 at the Bower Hospice House at Beckley following a long illness. Born May 29, 1934 at Summers Co. he was the son of the late William and Maude Wyrick Whitten. A lifelong resident of Summers County he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, retired brakeman for the CSX Corp., a member of the United Transportation Union and the Grace Baptist Church at Nimitz. Preceded in death by his first wife, Patty Lou Hatcher Whitten on June 28, 1990; two brothers and two sisters. Survived by two sons, Bret Whitten and wife Janet and Michael Whitten both of Jumping Branch; one daughter, Denean Matthews and husband Barry of Lexington, NC; two grandchildren, Jayme and Chase Whitten; one brother, Rupert Whitten and wife Almy of Hinton; three sisters, Louise Richardson of Cleveland, OH, Lou-Anna Johnson of Spencer and Hazel Richmond of Hinton. Funeral services will be held 3:30 P.M. Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the Grace Baptist Church, Nimitz with Pastor William R. Ballengee officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church from 2:00 P.M. till time of the service on Sunday. Special friends will serve as pallbearers.
