Woodrow Lusk

Rev. Woodrow Wilson Lusk, 96, of Shady Spring, went home to be with the Lord, Friday March 20, 2009 at his home following a long illness. Born November 2, 1912 at Duhring, WV he was a son of the late Freelin Jasper and Virgie Bailey Lusk. Rev. Lusk was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God at Sophia, ordained into the Lords work in 1946 where he served as a minister for over 62 years. He was a former carpenter and the last surviving member of his immediate family, a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who dedicated his life in love and service to his Lord and Savior through his ministry, and spending time with his family and friends. Preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Ream Lusk; one son, James Stanley; one granddaughter, Baby Girl Mazur; four step-children, Roger Dolan Wilson, Sharon Alice Wilson, Michael Donivan Wilson and Mary Ellen Wilson Chambers and one son-in-law, Bobby Mills. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years, Delpha Wilson Lusk at home; five children, Roger Dolan Lusk and wife Melissa of Shady Spring, Margaret Mazur and husband Rev. Paul Mazur of Eaton Rapids, MI, Mildred Lusk Mills of Baileysville, David Ray Lusk of Montana and Daniel Lusk and wife Deborah of Barnesville, OH; one step-daughter, Sandra Faye Swift and husband Jim of Beckley; twenty-four grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the Shady Spring Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Paul Lusk and Rev. Ernestine Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. Friends may call from at the church one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
